I’M NEITHER REPUBLICAN, DEMOCRAT, LIBERTARIAN OR INDEPENDENT

THOUGHTS OF AN OLD MAN

HOWEVER I GUESS MOST WOULD PUT ME IN THE MOLD OF CONSERVATIVE. I’M NOT SURE ABOUT THAT ONE.

I am first and foremost a Christian. There are few issues today that Gods Word is not plain on. Whether it be giving to the poor, racism, moral codes, the Governments place in society, taxes, foreign aid, abortion, same-sex marriage, gambling, Israel, work ethics, paying a worker properly, the National debt, abortion, family finances, education, etc.

I get weary of Christians taking the side of those who come out in favor of politicians that go directly against what God clearly says. I have had these folk write me and say, Well Obama is the President of all the people, not just Christians or the President is just trying to be fair, as if God is not fair or if I mention a particular sin, I am told I have no right to single…

So, just what are we dealing with here?

Scott Sunday

I am not one for religious debate.  Of all the religious debates I’ve seen (mostly on political forums and YouTube comment sections), I have found them to be fruitless at best and downright obstructive at worst.  Now, does this mean I don’t believe people should speak their minds and exchange ideas?  Of course not.  (If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have started this blog!)  However, never in my life has religious debate actually appealed to me.  After I started observing them, I began to see why, and I think anyone who’s sat through or read enough of the mumbo jumbo understands where I’m coming from.

That said, it would be dishonest of me to say that exposing myself to different perspectives on God hasn’t helped me evolve intellectually and spiritually.  I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember.  Today I am eighteen years old, and I cannot recall…

’50 SIGNS JESUS COMING BACK SOON’

THOUGHTS OF AN OLD MAN

The Bible says we cannot know the time of the Lord’s return (Matthew 25:13). But the Scriptures make it equally clear that we can know the soon signs of the Lord’s return (1 Thessalonians 5:2-6):

“You yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night… But you brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night or darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.”

This passage asserts that Jesus is coming like “a thief in the night.” But then it proceeds to make it clear that this will be true only for the pagan world and not for believers. His return should be no surprise to those who know Him…

Today I’m Gonna Have Fun…

It is important to have fun. This week was a BAD one. I’m taking my daughter to the local amusement park today to swim and water slide and goof off!  It’s days like today that make me want to celebrate life. Tragedies occur, accidents happen and loved ones are taken away when we least expect it. Create good times and appreciate the love of your family and the fellowship of great friends. At the end of the day THAT is what matters…

Prayers Appreciated…

My friend’s 18 year-old daughter was killed in a car accident early Tuesday morning. A parent’s worst nightmare. No parent should have to bury their child. She had just graduated from high school in June. A stunning young lady with her whole life ahead of her is now gone. Her work on Earth is complete. I truly believe that when it’s your time and the Lord says “come home” we answer that call. However, this is no consolation to the grieving parents and loved ones left behind to mourn such a loss and carry on. Please pray for my friends…a lot…They are strong people surrounded by love from family and friends but this will not be easy. Thank you.
